Monthly favourites – October

I cannot quite believe I’ve only got a couple more monthly favourites to write and we’re at the end of the year.. where has the time gone?

October is one of my favourite months of the year, there are lots of birthdays to celebrate and we’re in full swing of Autumn just about to go into Winter, so for me.. it’s a very good month.

I’ve got lots of things done, I’ve even started my Christmas shopping.. so all round it’s been a productive month!

Birthday

My mums birthday. My last post was on this so I won’t bang on about it too much. But a few days ago it was my mums birthday, she had a lockdown birthday, but we did the best we could in order to still celebrate it and she ended up having the best time! I love birthdays, not just my own but my loved ones too. I love spoiling them and making the most of it, so for me a family members birthday is so much fun.

Fake tan

I’ve recently tried a new fake tan. It’s the Utan x Jamie Genevieve CBD Tanning water facial mist. I know I’m really late to the party with this one, but I’m so glad I finally got round to trying it. I’ll do a full review on this product (because it deserves one), but honestly.. I love it!

Weather

It’s cold, windy and rainy and is literally screaming autumn and winter.. so that means one thing.. Christmas is just around the corner. I don’t know about anyone else, but I much prefer going for cold morning walks than when the sun is out. It’s so refreshing and gets me prepared for the day ahead. So I’m all here for this cold weather, even if it does rain 90% of the time.

New recipes

It’s been cookie and brownie mania in my house. I’ve mentioned before how much I love baking, so being in lockdown again has made lots of time for me to practice new recipes. Stuffed cookies, all different flavoured brownies, you name it and I’ve probably tried it. Another amazing thing about this is my house has constantly smelt of baking, chocolate and all things yummy.. so I’m happy about that.

Online shopping

I feel like I always mention this one, but online shopping this month has been slightly diffferent. It’s been for others, and not so much for myself. Towards the end of the month, I’ve made the concious effort to get as much Christmas shopping done as I can (the whole of England is going into a four week long lockdown on Thursday and none essential shops are closing), so basically everyone will be doing their Christmas shopping online this year. So I’ve done my best to get some bits before they all get snapped up.

Pretty walk

I’ve been to a couple of new walks just recently, that look even prettier now the leaves have started to fall off and nature is blessing us with it’s beauty. I’ve been keeping up with my regular walks and it’s been doing me the world of good.

Vampire Diaries

I finally finished Vampire Diaries!! It’s a good job too, it has been removed from Netflix today.. which I’m not all that happy about. But on the plus side, I managed to finish it with a few days to spare.. it did mean binge watching it for the past month, so that’s pretty much all I’ve been watching during the month of October, but completely worth.. just a shame I can’t watch it again.

Halloween

I’m not saying I’m a massive Halloween fan, especially now I’m older. But I do like to celebrate it in some way. This year was very different, there was no parties and trick or treating was advised against for children. So my Halloween consisted of staying home, watching Hocus Pocus and ordering a Pizza.. my kind of perfect if you ask me.

Hocus pocus

I couldn’t do this post without at least acknowledging my favourite Halloween film. I feel like everyone will know of the film, but not every one will have watched it. If you haven’t.. definitely watch it! It is the perfect film to watch during the Halloween season, and even before or after too. I’ve watched this film who knows how many times, but no matter what, I never get bored of it.

Structured days

If you’ve read any of my previous posts, you’ll know I’m all about organisation and making the most out of my days. This includes having structured days.. I don’t mean scheduled to the minute (I couldn’t do that) but mainly setting out what I need to get done that day, what I want to achieve and making progress in all aspects of my life. This month has been the first month in a long time I’ve managed to do this and my goodness it feels amazing!

  1. I prefer colder weather too! Too bad I live in a tropical country, so cold for me means rainy days and drizzles, which I relish. In fact, I just went for a walk in the drizzle yesterday, lol. Looks like a great October. Time for a new month!
