Monthly favourites – September

Can I just have a little moment to shout at the top of my lungs, how excited I am about Autumn. I’m not really sure what it is, but Autumn is definitely my favourite season of the year. I think it mainly has to do with the fact that I can now wrap up in fluffy coats and cover my house in pumpkins.. either way, I love it..

Anyway, on to my favourites. I’ve got quite a few this month. For the most part, September has been a very good month for me. I’ve felt the best I’ve felt in a long time, I’ve overcome something that to be quite frank.. scared the crap out of me, I’ve learnt a lot about myself (I won’t bore you with those details.. or maybe I will.. one day). But all in all September for me, has been pretty damn good.

Cervical cancer screening

I was unsure about whether to include this in my favourites, because it isn’t a favourite thing of mine to do.. but it is very important and I wanted to address it. I’m sure you will have heard about the procedure before, so I won’t go into any details. But since I have turned the very good age of 25, this is now something I have to do. In all honesty, it scared the crap out of me.. which I think is fairly normal with it being my first one. Any girl will feel me when I say, it’s actually quite daunting, but once it is done and out of the way, you feel so much better about it. I think the main reason for including this on my favourites is because; I know a lot of women avoid this, through the simple fact that they are apprehensive about it. I just want to say, it is by no means as bad as it sounds, I completely over dramatized it in my head, it lasts a matter of minutes.. I actually said “Is that it?” when it was finished. So I guess what I’m saying is, when the time comes.. please get your cervical cancer screening done!

Book

Sarah Morgan – Sunset in Central Park. It’s just little old me, back again talking about yet another Sarah Morgan book. Will I ever get bored of them? Probably not. But this book is amazing.. obviously it is, it’s by Sarah Morgan. It is yet again, right up my street and makes for the perfect read just before I switch off for the night. Like any other book I read, I’ll do a full review on it.. so look out for that.

Christmas

I know we haven’t had Halloween yet, but I cannot help myself when it comes to looking round the shops at all the Christmas bits and bobs. It’s my favourite time of the year, and after the year we’ve had.. why not start buying Christmas presents.. after all, I am an organiser. I adore walking around stores that are filled with Christmas decorations and gifts, mentally creating a Christmas list of all the things I want to buy my family this year.. it’s my favourite thing to do.

Baking

I made blondies for the first time this month. And can I just say, oh my goodness.. they are something else. We made Lotus biscoff blondies and I cannot wait until we make them again. I’ve been experimenting a little more just recently and trying out things I wouldn’t have before. Brownies have always been a fave of mine, so I thought it was only right I tried the latest craze … blondies.

Work

Like many others, I’ve been off work for what seems like forever. But this month I started back, not in full swing may I add. But just getting back to work has done me the world of good. It’s amazing how much a normal routine can improve your daily life. I love my job, so hopefully it won’t be too long until I’m back full time.

Manifestation journal

Believe it or not, I’ve never actually done a manifestation journal before.. I know, I’m shocked too. I got this idea from the book Manifest Now by Idil Ahmed. The way I do this is by writing in my journal on a daily basis. This is usually first thing in a morning, during my morning routine. I prefer to do it after meditation and visualization. Just so I can write about what I have visualized and what I want to manifest into my life. It’s something I have done every day throughout September without fail.

Morning routine

I did a post not too long ago on my morning routine, and just how much I have changed it.. for the better. It’s been working extremely well for me and fits into my life perfectly. I can already feel the benefits from it, so if you haven’t already, go give it a read and see if there are any tips that could help improve your mornings.

Music

Jhene Aiko.. need I say more? I have absolutely no reason at all to explain why I haven’t listened to her music before. But this month, I listened to one song.. then ended up listening to near enough every song she’s ever done, I’m obsessed. Needless to say, my playlist is now full to the brim with her music.

Program

I’ve been struggling to find new programs that blow me away, so I figured I would watch something I have already watched before. Downton Abbey it is.. if you know this series, you will also know the excitement I feel when watching it. It’s just one of those programs that no matter how many times you watch it, it never gets old. So for a few weeks now I’ve been binge watching it from the very first series.. although I am trying not to rush through it this time.
