Summer red lips

I don’t know about anyone else, but this weather we’ve been having here in the UK has got me feeling all summery all of a sudden. It’s probably down to the fact that hot sunny summers are not all that common here..

But when I think of summer, I think of bright white floaty dresses, wavy hair and bright red lips.

I’ve done a few posts on the types of lipstick I like to wear, and red just isn’t up there with my most worn and it hasn’t been for a while, up until now!

It’s probably lockdown brain or summer brain, I’m not sure which. But I have been loving wearing bright lipstick again. I used to wear it every single day without fail quite a few years back, so I guess you could say I sickened myself with it. I became extremely bored of wearing red lips and opted for the classic nude glossy lip instead.

My favourite for a long time has been the NYX soft matte lip cream in the shade Morocco. So whenever I’m feeling in a red lipstick kind of mood, this is the one I reach for. It is so inexpensive compared to a lot of makeup brands these days, but still such a statement colour in anyone’s makeup collection.

I usually only go for a red lip during the Christmas period and a few times during the summer months. But I’ve decided, whenever I feel like it (no matter the weather), I’m going to wear it!

I absolutely love wearing it on holiday, just because a classic red lip with a fresh holiday glow, is right up there with the best kind of looks!

But because I neglected the red lip, my collection has become a little outdated.. so a perfect excuse for me to treat myself to some new ones and try out what new brands have to offer.
