I’ve always been one of those people; the tidier my house is, my room is, my work space is.. the tidier my mind is.
I wouldn’t go as far as saying I love tidying and cleaning, but I do enjoy it.. sometimes. It’s more of the feeling of accomplishment when it’s all done. Whenever everything is tidy, put away and clean, my mind just feels better.
Keeping our minds active is extremely important and one sure way of doing this is just by tidying your house. I know it may seem like one of the most boring things you can do, but it’s actually not that bad.
When things start to become cluttered and untidy, it starts to have an affect on me. I can’t concentrate properly and I start to develop brain fog. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who feels like this from time to time.
It doesn’t have to be anything drastic, maybe just an hours worth of ironing or some light cleaning, sweeping/hoovering the floors or some dusting in your bedroom. Small things make the biggest difference. Although a big clean every so often is really good just for cleanliness purposes.
Especially at a time like this, occupying our time is extremely important. It can become a little mundane staying home all day every day and slowly but surely running out of things to do. Cleaning your house will always be on your list of things to do (it can get untidy pretty quickly).
I like to set myself a little routine; what cleaning/tidying I want to do on certain days. Nothing too drastic, (unless that’s what you like to do). But routines, make life so much easier.
Sometimes I wake up not feeling inspired to do all that much, other than writing blog posts and doing some exercise. So to get myself into a productive state, I start to do some tidying. A general tidy of my room, make the bed, put things away I left out the day before, that sort of thing. This then inspires me to do more, it inspires me to get moving and get on with my day.
Movement makes me productive, hence my reason for always trying to do as much tidying and cleaning I feel I can that day. Just this small task makes a difference to not only our mental state but our physical too!
