If there was ever a perfect timing for a post.. this would be it.
Currently we’re going through something that no one expected, something scary and something that has the ability to cause a lot of fear in our minds and bodies.
I’ve been reading some information (from reliable sources) about what we can do to help with getting through this the best way possible. Aside from the obvious precautions, washing hands etc, keeping our minds in good shape is just as important.
Because of this current situation, lots more people are working from home, staying in whenever they can and avoiding unnecessary contact. This being said, our freedom has become very limited. It’s extremely important we look after ourselves during this time, meditation being one of the many ways we can do so.
I’ve meditated for a while now.. with a few missed days if I’m being completely honest. I learnt about it quite a while ago now, and for those of you who read my posts regularly you’ll probably already know this (I mention it quite a lot). It’s become something I do on a daily basis.
Mediation is a way of being able to shut off your mind for 5 minutes or so.. longer if you can. It’s a way of grounding yourself and helping with your perspective on life. It gives you a breather during the day. Just 5 minutes will do so much for you, 5 minutes of focusing only on your breathing.
Go to a quite place within your home, sit comfortably, relax your body and breathe. Focus on your breath rather than everything that is going on in the world. If you’re new to it, it’ll take a bit of practice, find what works for you.
The more you meditate, the better it gets. The easier it becomes and the more you will get from it.
