As the seasons start to change, so does the fashion..
There are so many trends around at the moment, some that stick around for a long time and others that are here one minute and gone the next. You know the ones; ‘Underwear as outerwear’, ‘Socks and heels’..
I’m always looking for the newest trend or the newest piece everyone is raving about! More often than not, I’ll like it. But sometimes it just won’t float my boat.
Whenever I discover a new trend or piece of fashion, I’ll try and find a cheaper alternative.. especially if it’s designer. Not because I don’t like spending my money (I definitely do). I just sometimes prefer spending a little less because the chances are, the trend won’t be around for long.
I absolutely love spending my free time searching the internet for ideas on outfits. Don’t get me wrong, I mostly like to put together my own, but there’s no shame in getting a bit of inspo every now and then is there?
My first port of call would be Instagram, yes you knew it was coming. This app is amazing for so many things, but my favourite being inspiration for fashion and makeup etc. Mainly because Instagram is now full of influencers filling our feed with all these cute outfit ideas, and I’m all about that. I love opening the app and knowing full well I’m going to find clothes I like and potentially want to buy. I follow so many people who’s clothes I love, so everyday I will see something different. Hashtags are another great thing. If you are looking for a particular trend, you can search the hashtag section and guarantee you will find what you are looking for.
Next would be Pinterest. This app has definitely improved over the years. I never used to think about using Pinterest for fashion ideas until maybe a couple of years ago, but now this is where I spend most of my time. The best thing about this is, when searching for ideas, more often than not it will have a blog post linked to it, which will take you straight to the website with even more inspo. Bloggers are all about Pinterest at the moment (me included), so this is the perfect place to find those cute insta worthy outfits.
And finally, clothes websites themselves. The ‘New in’ tab right at the top of your favourite online store. This is for more individual pieces rather than full outfits. But it comes in very handy for anyone who likes to do the whole putting an outfit together thing themselves. The latest pieces will be there just waiting for you to buy them.
