My motivation for starting a blog

Let me just say one thing first.. I absolutely LOVE blogging, I’m obsessed! And I’m so glad I started it. I contemplated starting one for the longest time, and honestly, I have no idea why it took me so long.

I guess I was a little nervous that nobody would be interested in what I had to say. And delving into something I’d never done before, was kind of daunting. But anyway I finally plucked up the courage to start one, and I’m happy with how it’s going.

I’ve always read blogs, I find all the tips and tricks so interesting to read. I love reading about where people have been on holiday (just in case I visit there) or ways to improve my life.. or fashion and makeup tips. Anything really and I’ll give it a read. So I guess you could say I was inspired by what bloggers had to say and realised I have quite a lot to talk about too.

Reading has always been my thing, (I’ve wrote enough about it, so you’ll already know this). And writing has always been my strong point, all throughout school and college, writing was what I was good at. I stopped for a while after college but after reading quite a lot, I decided I would give writing a try.. and here I am.

Another reason I started my blog was because I wanted something fun to fill my free time with. I work full time and spend a lot of my time with loved ones but I wanted something for me. Something that I could give my attention to, a focus if you will. It made sense to do something that gave me structure to my week and blogging fills that gap. I’m an organised person for the most part so having my week planned out with certain days for blog posts is exactly what I wanted.

Photography has been something I’ve loved for years now and whilst reading blog posts, I found that photography was genuinely appreciated. We all love a good sunset picture don’t we? This is something I haven’t done too much on my blog, but definitely something I’m looking to do more of this year. It’s another little way of expressing myself as well as through my writing, so photography definitely helped with my decision to start a blog.

I started a blog for fun but I love it so much I hope that soon it will become my full time job. Imagine waking up every morning and doing something that you are completely obsessed with?

I can honestly say, blogging is everything I had hoped it would be and more. The sense of achievement it gives you just by writing a post and getting a couple of likes and comments is everything!

A little bit of advice from me: If you are contemplating starting a blog.. just do it, give it a try!
