‘The dog who changed my life’
This is a genre of book I’ve never read before. I guess you could say I’m kind of specific when it comes to the books I read. But I’m trying to read more this year, and also try out different genres.. types of books I wouldn’t usually gravitate towards.
I started reading this book at the end of last year and finished it at the beginning of this year. It is absolutely amazing, it sucked me in right from the beginning.
The book is about a man and his dog, a staffy. I guess being a staffy owner myself is what drew me to this book in the first place. I love anything to do with Staffordshire Bull Terriers, especially anything that proves they are the most loyal and loving dogs, despite what the media says.
Throughout this book, John proves exactly how a dog can change your life. If you’re a dog owner, you’ll instantly feel connected to this book. Reading John’s story on how George changed his life and gave him a purpose is so heartwarming.
I won’t go too much into the details of this book in case any of you fancy giving it a read. It’s such a beautiful story, one that gave me faith in humanity and proving just how detrimental pets can be to our lives.
I am absolutely besotted by my dog, so very quickly I picked up on the love between John and George. It is very clear from the start how much they both mean to each other, which makes this books that bit more special.
Nothing quite compares to the love of your dog.
