Here we go again with another book review. This being the first Romance book I’ve reviewed. Not my usual genre of book, I know. But this one caught my eye and I’m really glad it did.
I bought this book as my ‘Plane book’ a few years ago, my intention was to read it on my 8 hour flight to New York, but I was so excited to get there I couldn’t concentrate on a book. So when I got home, this book sadly ended up at the back of my wardrobe, only for me to find it again not so long ago.
I usually gravitate towards Self help and Thriller books. So I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed reading Sleepless in Manhattan.
Once I’d finished the book, I researched the Authors name (Sarah Morgan) and realised this was a book from a Series she’d released called ‘From Manhattan with love’. I only then realised this was the second book in the series. So obviously I won’t be trying to find the first book in the series (kind of pointless now) but I will definitely be purchasing the rest of them.
I was addicted within the first few pages and that was something I wasn’t expecting. I managed to get through it within a week, so that for me just tells me how much I enjoyed reading it. If I find something I like, I want to read it all there and then and struggle so much to put the book down. I’m obsessed with this book and hope that the rest of the series is just as good if not better.
I’m one of those readers where if I find a Genre of book I enjoy, I want them all. And same goes for an Author, if I find someone who’s books draw me in, I want them all. So to my delight, I discovered Sarah Morgan has wrote quite a large amount of books.
I’m currently reading another of her books right now, which is a Christmas book (so it would be rude not to right). Anyway, my point is.. I’m obsessed with her books and I am already collecting more from the series, ready to get stuck into as soon as possible.
A little about the book: It is about 3 friends who live in Manhattan, this book goes into a little detail about their lives but is mostly focused on a character named Paige and her friendship/relationship with her brothers best friend Jake. It’s one of those stories where you’re rooting for them the whole way through. I won’t spoil the book for anyone wanting to give it a read, but if you love a romance novel with a streak of heat running through it, this is the one for you.
For anyone interested in this book the series is ‘From Manhattan with love’;
- Book 0.5: Midnight at Tiffany’s
- Book 1: Sleepless in Manhattan
- Book 2: Sunset in Central Park
- Book 3: Miracle on 5th Avenue
- Book 4: New York, actually
- Book 5: Holiday in the Hamptons
- Book 6: Moonlight over Manhattan
I believe UK and USA have different book covers for this series, so research first to make sure you’re buying the correct book.
