Book Review – You are a badass

‘How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life’.

I feel like I always say this book is amazing on every book review I do. But honestly, this book is by far the best, as much as it pains me to say it (it beats The Secret).

Over the past couple of years I’ve slowly started to read more self help books. They’ve become so popular, a statement to people’s everyday lives. It’s one of those things, you’re either into them or you’re not.. I’ll admit I was a little skeptical to begin with, because you think How in the world can that one book change my life.. well I’ll say it, IT DOES! My self help book journey began with The Secret, a must have for anyone’s collection. I did a post on this if you fancy a read

I was blown away with the positive impact that one book had on my life, so I began researching and buying more.. I haven’t got the biggest collection but I’m definitely getting there. I came across a recommendation for You are a badass, and let me tell you, this book did not disappoint (hence it now being my favourite).

It’s definitely opened my eyes and allowed me to believe in myself so much more. They aren’t there to force you to do certain things or think a certain way, it’s more of a guide for people who want to make the most of their lives, to ensure you are using your mind to it’s full potential (it’s a very powerful thing if you use it correctly). You read stories about people who have applied simple strategies to their daily routine and how it has changed things for the better (and I’m all about that, I love a success story).

I guess you could say it’s a funny version of The Secret. It has similar points but is explained so much simpler and is broken down into 27 small chapters so as not to fry you brain. So if you are wanting some guidance on how to manifest and attract only the best into your life, then start with this book. It also has way more things in than just the standard manifestation and law of attraction. The main point throughout this book which is very apparent, is why it is so important to love yourself.. This being something we tend to forget to do on a daily basis.

The way the author (Jen Sincero) has wrote this is one of the best styles I’ve ever read. Her comparisons and easy strategy’s make it a comfortable read, but equally a very informative one. She has a few more books, which I intend to buy very soon.

Some of the main points in this book are ones you think you are doing, but when reading, you realise you’re not (or not as well as you could be). Points you forget about because you’re too busy rushing through life. It teaches you all about gratitude, why it is so important to be grateful for everything you have in your life at this current point and how being grateful will then attract more of the things you want into your life.

As much as we don’t like to admit it, us people in general can be quite negative about, well just about everything. This is teaching us how to see things more positively and how being negative is hurting our minds. It’s a complex book but so easy to follow and use in our everyday lives. I’m not saying once you read this book, you will have everything you have ever wanted and you will never be sad again.. it doesn’t work like that. It takes a bit of time and perseverance to get your head around.. read it over and over again, take notes, read more self help books, watch YouTube videos. If you follow the steps and strategies properly you will begin to see things changing in your life for the better (I have).

I’ll stop rambling now, (this is one of the many things I’m passionate about, so I tend to go on).
