Making the most of the sunshine this Easter Bank Holiday

It’s not very often we get a full weekend of pure sunshine! So I definitely took advantage of it this Easter, a weekend of fun things and making the most of the beautiful weather.

I love bank holidays, especially ones that involve lots of chocolate. The weather was forecast to be good for Easter Bank Holiday.. So I made sure I made plans.

Friday;
Shopping day, to the Trafford Centre in Manchester. There are plenty of places to shop not too far away from me, but this Bank Holiday I fancied venturing further out and having a full day to shop! I was in desperate need of some new clothes and fancied treating myself. There are huge amounts of shops spreading over two floors, making it impossible not to come away with multiple purchases (just what I needed).

We scoured the shops from start to finish, only breaking off to stop for some lunch. There are so many places to eat in the food hall, choosing the perfect place is the only hard decision. We decided on Carluccio’s, a gorgeous Italian Restaurant.. which I’ve been to many times before. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara (my usual). Carluccio’s definitley have the best Carbonara, so if you are like me and it is one of your favourite dishes, give it a try!

I bought a few things from Zara, a shop that I always look around but don’t seem to find what I’m looking for. This time I went in not intending to buy much and ended up buying some items. The quality from Zara is by far one of the best and even though, compared to online stores they can be seen to be on the more expensive side, completely worth the money.

Saturday;
Girls day, I love Leeds for day drinking, I’ve been a couple of times before, but this time we went to a different area which was recommended by a friend. Greek Street, a short walk from the train station that you just cannot miss. Lined with Cocktail Bars and Restaurants, this place was filled with people inside and out. Just like me, there to enjoy the sun and spend time with friends. This is a place I will be sure to go again.

The first bar we went in was The Alchemist, they have two in Leeds.. this one I had never been to before. Then we went to the next bar which was Neighbourhood, a place I had heard so many good things about. They have the cutest flower wall and decor in this bar (very Instagram worthy). The last place we went was The Liquorist, the quietest bar of them all. It has plenty of seating inside.. which definitely comes in handy when you need a break from the beaming sunshine.

Sunday;
Family day, I spent the day with my family. We went to a place called Wentworth which is pretty local to me, but one of the cutest quaint villages I have ever been to. We decided to not venture too far out, to save spending too much time travelling. It was around lunch time, so going to the pub we all love the most was definitely the first stop. The Rockingham Arms is one pub I have been to many times before, I recommend it to almost everyone who hasn’t been before. The food is amazing, especially the Beef Yorkie Wrap.. they didn’t serve this on Easter Sunday, because they have a different menu for Sunday alone. So this time I had the Bacon Cheese Burger, again another good meal.

There are a few different routes where you can go for a walk and explore the village a little more, so after lunch that is exactly what we did. Starting at a path just near the church, into the village and back to the car park. The weather was perfect for a little Sunday stroll.
