Girls weekends are by far the best weekends! A combination of lots of shopping and just as many cocktail bars. I love spending time with my friends, we don’t often get to do it.. So it’s important to free a weekend every now and then and get together.
We went to visit a friend who lives in wales, which is a short train journey away from Liverpool, so that is where we decided to spend the day. We just happened to drop on a weekend when the train journeys were disrupted, so it took a little longer to get there than usual (around 1 hour and 30 minutes).
Before we ventured into the shops and cocktail bars, of course we needed to find somewhere nice to eat. We went to Zizzi, which is an Italian Restaurant. My first time eating here and definitely won’t be the last! I had the spaghetti chorizo carbonara.. You have to try it! I’m a huge carbonara fan! Wherever I go, if they sell it I will most likely try it (if I haven’t already).
Liverpool is one of my favourite places to go! The shops are amazing and the bars are even better. Even at 12 o clock in the afternoon, the bars are full and people are enjoying the company of there friends. The hen parties are out in numbers and that stag do’s are gathered outside the pubs.
My favourite bars to go in Liverpool are Revolution, they have three here.. one on Wood street, another at the Albert Docks and one in the Cavern Quarter, which is the one I went to this time. There are so many good bars to go to when you are in Liverpool, I haven’t been in a bad one yet! Another bar I went to was Modo which is in Concert Square, Ropewalks. This is the place to be no matter the time of day. The bars are full and there is plenty of outside seating. As it gets later the bars become Night Clubs, so if you fancy staying later.. you get the best of both worlds.
As you can probably tell, I’m a Gin drinker.. So having a nice meal, a nosy around the shops and a couple of gins in some cute bars with my friends is a weekend well spent!
